If you have a new baby with sensitive skin or eczema, you know it needs extra gentle care. The Borage Butter Eczema Cream from Wild Carrot Herbals will help soothe those itchy spots and help clear them up. Try the Oatmeal Bath for itchy skin too, whether caused by rashes, bites, or sunburn. Using gentle body washes and lotions will also help prevent irritation. This is a great natural line, mostly packaged in glass. They have great stuff for moms (Nipple Whip) and dads (Mountain Man Lotion) too.

Sweet Beauty Baby Lotions and Cleansers

According to the Company, all products are 100% Natural, Paraben Free, Preservative Free, Fragrance Free, have no Artificial Colors and are Packaged in Environmentally Friendly Packaging. What they do have in them is the wonderfully moisturizing and gentle Cocoa Butter! These products smell delicious, and don't worry moms, they have a whole line of products just right for your too. I love citrus, so a favorite of mine is the Tangerine Truffle Lotion.

Bath & Body • Druide Eco Certified Body Care

Druide Eco-Certified Organic Body Care for the Whole Family

Chlorophyll and Vitamin E SoapMuscular Massage CreamProtective Oil

One of the largest organic product lines I have ever seen in North America, this company is located in Canada, and has EcoCert organic certification for its entire range of products. They have a baby care line, with a great baby oil spray. Some of the baby line contains lavender, so just check the ingredients list if you are looking to avoid it. For mom's tired feet or aching muscles, try one of the massage creams the company makes. They have a beautiful texture, are not greasy and not dry and are extremely easy to handle.

Sunscreen • Lavera Baby Sun Spray

Lavera Baby Sun Spray Neutral & Kids Plant-Green Sun Spray

The Baby Neutral sunscreen doesn't contain "essential oils", which can irritate some of us with sensitive skin, but it still offers broad spectrum protection with coated Titanium Dioxide. A large portion of the ingredients are organic. When you have to use sunscreen rather than shade, I think this is one of the better ones out there. The Kids Plant-Green Sun Spray has a neat ingredient that is green when applied (so you can see where you might have missed) and then it disappears after a few minutes. Both have great texture, not thick and sticky.

Bath & Body • John Masters Organics

John Masters Organics

lip calmblood orange and vanilla body milkcitrus and neroli detanglerrose and aloe hydrating toning mist

Huge, huge fan of John Masters. Before I tried it I just couldn't believe that it would smell as good as it does or work as well. The pictures above are of my particular favorites. I think it is important to use natural cosmetics and skincare as a mom since we are always skin to skin with our delicate little babies. I have even used the Lip Calm lip balm on kids too and they like it. It tastes neutral with the tiniest hint of citrus. The Blood Orange and Vanilla lotion is fantastic, best natural lotion I have used, and I have used quite a few. I can't do without the Citrus & Neroli Detangler, and for a pick me up, a little spritz of the toning mist does the trick, and my face is getting a little treatment at the same time.

Bath & Body • CleanWell Hand Sanitizer

CleanWell Hand Sanitizer

Hand Sanitizer Pack

Soap and water are a great way to wash up, but what about when you don't have a sink handy? Bring along some CleanWell, invented by a mom who has a son with an immune condition. The germ-fighting ingredient is Ingenium, a patented combination of natural essential oils that kills 99.99% of germs, without toxic or artificial chemicals.

Bath & Body • Bien Ella Stretch Mark Cream

Bien Ella Mother's Miracle Belli Butter

belli butterThere is no known magic potion for preventing stretch marks, they come from tearing at the collagen level of the skin, and some say they are hereditary, but eating a diet full of healthy fats and anti-oxidants should help along with a topical application of moisturizing creme with skin building ingredients. Bien Ella Stretch Mark Cream contains Emu Oil, which is high in Omega 3 and Omega 6 oils and is similar in lipid structure to humans, enhancing absorption and helping cell regeneration. Other ingredients are Kokum, Avocado, Cocoa, Shea and Mango Butters, along with Aloe Vera infused Soybean Oil, Seabuckthorn Oil and Vitamin E, so it is wonderfully moisturizing, keeping skin elastic.

Bien Ella was started by a mom whose son was affected by skin sensitivities. She wanted to keep things simple and created this product line with no intricate chemical compounds, no dyes, petroleum, mineral oil, lanolin, glycerin, preservatives, fillers or other additives.

Bath & Body • Least Likely To Breed Creams

Tough Titties Nipple Rub, Bad Ass Booty Balm, Roid Rage for Hemorrhoids, and Va-J-J Jelly

All of these creams will come in handy at some point, yes (unfortunately) all of them. They contain all-natural remedies, and high quality ingredients. Besides that, you will crack a smile every time you use them, at least I do. Some of the products contain lanolin or beeswax and the Booty Balm contains emu oil, so if you are a strict vegan these aren't for you. The ingredients are all-natural, and tried and true remedies for the trouble at hand, or elsewhere. If you have heard the reports alleging lavender and tea tree oil may not be the best ingredients for boys, never fear, they're not here.

Sunscreen • Trukid Sunny Days Lotion and Face Stick

Trukid Sunscreen Products: Lotion and Face Stick

Sunny Days™ SPF 30+ Natural Mineral SunscreenSunny Days™ SPF 30+ Natural Mineral Sunscreen Water Resistant Face Stick

I try to use hats and natural shade as the best protection against too much sun, but there are times when I use sunscreen in limited amounts. I have found this sunscreen for kids to have the least number of ingredients I couldn't identify. The Environmental Working Group's Cosmetic Safety Database lists the Face Stick as one of the ones with the least number of concerns. It is a natural mineral sunscreen meaning the protection starts right away, there is no need to wait for 30 minutes before heading out. You will have to reapply every 80 minutes for full protection all day.

Bath & Body • Kiss My Face Foaming Hand Soap

Kiss My Face Foaming Hand Soap

New moms are always looking for ways to save time and effort. If you wash your hands as much as I do, you will appreciate the time you save lathering and rinsing with this self-foaming soap. Extra benefits include all-natural organic ingredients and a delicious lemon scent. It really does smell like fresh-squeezed lemons, not like fake "lemony" products you may have tried in the past. I have one in the kitchen as well as the bathroom, and it gets rid of food smells on my hands when I am cooking too. Save even more resources by buying the refill size bottle when you run out. If you have kids that are washing up on their own, they will love it too!

Bath & Body • Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Soap

Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Liquid Soap

While I emphatically recommend the entire line of products for everyone in your home, I am especially fond of Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Liquid Soap. I personally use it, and it is really great for gently bathing your baby all over. The company has been around for decades and has always been dedicated to healthy biodegradable products and is now certified Fair Trade. You should know that it is not "Tear-Free", but I use it in very small amounts and rinse using a wet washcloth.

I personally think it is better to use unscented products on yourself and on baby, especially in your first few months together, since bonding with your baby involves him or her being familiar with your "scent".
